Technology Transfer Unit

The Technology Transfer Unit (TTU) establishment in Patras Science Park, is in close incorporation with human and organization networks in the Greek region, and all over the European Union. Through participation in innovation, information and Technology Transfer associations and cooperation with other Technology Transfer units, the TTU expands its knowledge base and offers specialized services to customers.

TTU is capable to support the innovative activities of enterprises, and to create mechanisms and infrastructures promoting the exploitation of research results and the introduction of innovative products and services for local and regional enterprises. Through technology transfer and incorporation procedures the TTU contributes in the modernization and competitiveness improvement of the enterprises in the region of Western Greece.

This action is addressed to any enterprise in the region (industrial, manufacturing, high technology, software engineering, etc.). The objectives are:

To support them in seeking, obtaining, adapting and integrating existing know-how
To assist them in licensing know-how for commercial purposes
To help them obtain consulting services of technical, organizational, administrative, financial, legislative or commercial nature
To enhance the dissemination and promotion of the developing local know-how.
In order to support industrial enterprises as well as SMEs, the Technology Transfer Unit at PSP acts as an agent of innovation promotion and technology transfer and TTU effectively assist them in confronting new challenges and solve existing problems.
ACTIVITIES
Technology Transfer Unit infrastructure is comprised of:

Computer equipment and networking
TTU web site
Development and presentation of methodologies and innovative practices
Exchange of experiences with other organizations of the same kind
Standardization of offered procedures and services
Collection, documentation and dissemination of information
Consultancy services
Attendance to seminars and workshops
Access to resources of information
(Inter)national databases
Regularly updated data concerning new technologies
Participation in human networks, organization networks
Developing co operational relationships with Universities, Research centers, Industrial development organizations, Companies of the public sector, Chambers of commerce etc.
Becoming a member of international technology transfer organizations (IASP, TII, AURRP, IRC, Innovation)
Establishment contacts with the European Commission
Creation of the following operational entities

INNOVATION PROMOTION AND TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER BUREAU
CONSULTING SERVICES BUREAU
By means of this infrastructure, the Technology Transfer Unit is capable of developing and offering integrated services to support the evolution and improvement of any enterprise or organization interested in confronting the challenges of the new century.
