Along with the application form a brief Business Plan is required with the following information:
- Goals of enterprise, market information, their clients, costs, cash flow predictions
- Know how, intellectual rights
- Possibility of further know how development
- Financing possibilities and guidance by experienced entrepreneurs (business angels, mentors)
- Existing or future cooperation with Universities and Research Centers in Greece or abroad
- Administration team, enterprising experience and training background
- Personal commitment of the team (very important)
- Agreement on available services by PSP for enterprising needs

All firms that are accepted, sign a contract (between PSP and firm), which initially lasts for twelve (12) months (trial period). After the passage of the twelve (12) month period, the business is obliged to ask for a renewal of the contract or not, submitting also a brief progress report and planning for the next period (usually 1 year). If it is judged satisfactory, then the contract is renewed for twelve (12) more months (usually). This procedure goes on for approximately 3 years, and then the possibility for the companyʼs leave is examined, especially if there is not enough area for its development. This is not obligatory and is examined by the PSP Board of Directors.

3. Appointment of an individual for communicating with the unit

6. First review. Rejection due to basic characteristics and forward for evaluation

8. Inform the unit and invite it to present their proposition. Negative opinion, inform unit (can resubmit application). Reserved opinion, inform unit and invite to present to the Board of Directors. |

Criteria for the admittance |
|
The special areas that comprise the Business Incubator and the Business Innovation Center are available for the initial settlement, the temporary operation and creation of special firms, spin-off companies. In these areas the supportive facilities and services of PSP will be provided, so that the guest units to implement their business plan.
Entrepreneurial schemes incorporated in the Business Innovation Center must be newly established (or under establishment). The primary objectives are:
- To set up
- The completion - perfection and protection of their innovative product
- The setting-up and testing of their plan for exploitation of the innovative product
Entrepreneurial schemes incorporated in the Business Incubator unit should have gone past their preliminary establishment stage (inside or outside the Park), and should be in possession of an innovative product. Their incorporation focuses in
- Protecting their product (in case they have not done it yet)
- train and try out their exploitation plan for the innovation
- Implementing their plan of commercial exploitation of the product
Units to be admitted - Unit Form (Legal Forms)
Units of the following legal forms can be accepted for joining the Business Incubator or the Business Innovation Center:
- Enterprises and organizations in general
- Entrepreneurial schemes
- Teams that may cooperate with enterprises or entrepreneurial schemes
- Parts of the above-mentioned entities with activities complementally to those of Patras Science Park.
Characteristics and Objectives of the units
The units that are qualified for acceptance in the Business Incubator or the Business Innovation Center function are defined as "Transformation of R&D results into Innovation". Their activities in general are targeted in:
- Integration of an Innovative product or idea
- Linking between Research, Innovative technological development and enterprises
- Validation and exploitation of R&D results
- Improvement of the enterprises' competitiveness
These units should complement the Park in order to create an ideal environment for promotion innovativeness for entrepreneurial operation, and as a procedure of creating new exploitable entities and promoting the innovative products. The operation & development plans of units characterized by innovativeness aim in achieving results that contribute in:
- Renewal and broadening the product and services spectrum
- Renewal the production, supply and distribution procedures
- Introduction of changes in organization and administration methods
Criteria for the admittance of new companies in the Business Incubator or the Business Innovation Center
In the Business Innovation Center and Business Incubator the units that can be accepted for joining, are the ones that fulfill the following criteria:
- Through their operation and development plans, adopt innovativeness as a special way for enterprising operation that aims to a special – innovative - result
- Aim to create and develop innovative results that contributes in:
- Renewal and broadening the product and services spectrum
- Renewal the production, supply and distribution procedures
- Introduction of changes in organization and administration methods
- Act in such a way so that to contribute in joining research and innovative technological growth with the production area, targeted general in
- Validation and exploitation of the R & D results,
- Improvement of the enterprise or organization competitiveness
- Act in such a way so as to contribute with their scheduled activity in creating in P.S.P., an ideal environment for:
- Promotion of innovativeness as a way of entrepreneurial operation
- Promotion of innovation as a procedure of creating new exploitable entities
- Promotion of innovative products and ideas: new exploitative ideas, products, procedures – methodologies (including those for organization), as well as services (including social services) that define a framework for joining innovative ʽtechnologicalʼ growth with economy and the competition of businesses and organizations
