Konstantinos Tsekouras – President & CEO
Associate Professor at the Department of Economics of the University of Patras. For the period 2009-2011 has been elected as the Head of the Department. He holds a Bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Macedonia, an M.A. degree from Athens University of Economics and Business and a PhD from the Engineering School, Management and Operational Research Sector, of the University of Patras. His main research interests are focused on efficiency and productivity analysis, industry dynamics, economics of innovation and knowledge and economics of energy efficient technologies. He has participated as scientific coordinator and/or researcher in several EU and Greek research projects. He is Scientific Director of the Economics and Management Knowledge and Innovation Network (EMAKI) in which three departments of the University of Patras and distinguished Academic Researchers from abroad participate.

Efstratios Gallopoulos – Vice- President
Professor at the Dept. Computer Engineering & Informatics. Director of the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program "Mathematics of Computing and Decision Making" (2008-today). Software Division Director (1998-2007). Staff and faculty member at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1986-96); assistant professor at the University of California Santa Barbara (1985-86); visiting researcher at NASA Goddard Space Flight Centre (Summer 1982 & 1983). He has participated as Senior Computer Scientist in research and development of the Cedar vector multiprocessor at the University of Illinois Centre for Supercomputing Research and Development (1987-94); participated in the software development of the Goodyear Aerospace Massively Parallel Processor (MPP) (1980-85) receiving a NASA group achievement award (For outstanding initiative and creativity in the development, demonstration, and practical application of the first Massively Parallel Processor). His research has been funded by the US National Science Foundation, the US Department of Energy, AT&T and Esprit. He has participated as member in many scientific committees of international conferences and on the editorial boards of several journals (Parallel Computing, International Journal of High Speed Computing, Computing in Science and Engineering). He is currently serving on the editorial board of the International Journal of Parallel Programming. Dr. Gallopoulos received his Ph.D. at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign under the supervision of professor Daniel Slotnick and his B.Sc. (First Class Honours) in Mathematics from the Imperial College of Science and Technology (1979).

Nikos Karacapilidis
He holds a Professor position at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics, University of Patras (field: Management Information Systems). Before joining University of Patras in August 2000, he worked as Visiting Assistant Professor at the Dept. of Computer Science, University of Cyprus, and as Research Associate at EPFL - LITH (Switzerland), INRIA - Sophia Antipolis (France), GMD - AiS (Germany), and Queen Mary & Westfield College (UK).
His current research interests are on the areas of e-Collaboration, Technology-Enhanced Learning, Knowledge Management Systems, Group Decision Support Systems, Computer-Supported Argumentation and Enterprise Information Systems.

Christos Zaroliagis
Christos Zaroliagis received his PhD in computer science from the Department of Computer Engineering & Informatics of the University of Patras, Patras, Greece, in 1991. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering & Informatics, University of Patras, and a Senior Research Associate in the Computer Technology Institute (CTI), Patras, Greece. He held previous positions at the Max-Planck-Institut für Informatik (1993-1998), Saarbrücken, Germany, and the Department of Computer Science, King's College, University of London (1998-1999), UK. He is the head of the ALGOCUR Research Group specializing in the areas of efficient algorithms and data structures, algorithm engineering, parallel and distributed computing, combinatorial optimization, large-scale network optimization, robust and online optimization, transport optimization, cryptography and information security, and web searching and applications. He has extensively published in major international journals and conferences and has received numerous invitations from international conferences and leading academic institutions to give talks about his work. He is editor of the Journal of Discrete Algorithms (Elsevier), and has served as member in several conference committees. He is also the Director of the Laboratory for Computing (Computer Center) at the Department of Computer Engineering & Informatics, which provides ICT infrastructure and services to more than 3500 users and which hosts one of the Grid Nodes of the Hellas Grid Network.

Peter Triantafillou
Professor at the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics of the University of Patras and principal Collaborating Researcher at the Computer Technology Institute of Patras (Greece). He is also a senior research scientist with R.A.CTI. Since September 2007 he is the Director of the Department's Software Division. He is also the Director of the Network-centric Information Systems laboratory, heading research efforts on Network-Centric Information Systems. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo in 1991. Prior to joining the University of Patras, he held professorial positions at the School of Computing Science at Simon Fraser University, and at the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering at the Technical University of Crete. Recently, he was on sabbatical leave with the Max-Planck Institute for Informatics from September 2004 - July 2005. His inquiring interests are focused on the sectors of highly decentralized, scalable algorithms and systems over (possibly highly dynamic) network infrastructures. Specifically, he has been focusing on large-scale systems for content and resource sharing, and integration, with particular emphasis on Peer-to-Peer systems, Distributed Event-Based, Publish/Subscribe Systems and Social Networks. In the more recent past he worked on storage systems and servers and on distributed servers, with emphasis on supporting multimedia applications. Earlier research activities had focused on multi-databases, distributed file systems and highly-available distributed databases.

Dimitris Skouras
Professor of Economics at the University of Patras. He has a Bachelor's degree from the Faculty of the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and has completed his postgraduate studies at the University of Essex (Department of Statistics and Political Science) and the University of Aberdeen (Department of Geography), where he acquired his PhD Diploma. Apart from the Department of Economics, he has significant teaching experience at the Departments of Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, and Materials Science of the University of Patras mainly in the sectors of the Economy of Natural Resources, Environment and Food Technology. His research interests are focused on the Regional Economy, Economic Geography, Economics of Natural Resources and the Environment.
He has extensive research experience both as Project Manager and Researcher in projects financed by the European Union and national organisations. He has participated in scientific committees as well as in the implementation of studies on behalf of bodies and institutions of the Greek Government.

George Kokolakis
Professor at the Department of Applied Mathematics, School of Applied Mathematics and Physics. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Athens and a postgraduate degree at the Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science of Imperial College, University of London where he also acquired his PhD Diploma. He has worked as visiting professor at various universities in the United States of America and Great Britain (University of Nottingham, California-Davis, Texas-Austin and Harvard). His current research interests cover the areas of the Probability Theory (Stochastic Processes, Time Series Analysis, Diffusion Processes and Random Probability Measures, Martingale Theory, Reliability Analysis and System Optimization, Probabilistic Distances, Convexity and Discrete Optimization etc.) and Statistics (Asymptotic Statistical Theory and Martingales, Bayesian Statistics, Multivariate Statistical Analysis in Pattern Recognition, Optimal Partitions and Identity Protection in Official Statistics etc.). He has extensive research experience as Project Director in European and research projects and is a member of the scientific committees in international scientific journals.
