On Friday April 15 2011, ELDRUG at Patras Science Park (PSP), welcomed James D. Watson, one of the world’s most distinguished scientists for his DNA Double Helix Discovery. For this discovery, he was awarded in 1962 the Nobel Prize in Medicine and Physiology with Francis Crick and Maurice Wilkins.

The weekend 12 to 14 April 2011 (Tuesday - Thursday) at the Conference and Cultural Center of the University of Patras were the work of the 12th Congress Medicinal Chemistry - an institution now for the Graduate Program organizes annually the Congress - with keynote speaker and honoree Person Professor James D. Watson, Nobel Medicine and Physiology for the discovery of the double helix of DNA, 1962. This discovery has been described as the most important scientific achievement of the 20th century by many as the most important discovery of all time.
