Patras Science Park (PSP) is an active organization established 15 years ago. Today, a remarkable number of new and strong enterprises are operating under the auspices of PSP, most of them are inventors, adepts and users of new technologies, and PSP deserves to look forward in the future with trust and optimism. The strategic target of PSP is to establish an Innovative Business Area in the Region of West Greece, which will be a development and guidance tool for this Region towards the “rising innovative economic-productive frame” by facilitating – additively and alternatively- new economic, productive and business activities in the region. Thus, it aims at contributing essentially to the “innovative area” prominence.

In difficult for our country times, the Knowledge Production Organisms (Universities, Research Centers and Institutions, Open University and technical Schools) are now invited not only to contribute to but also to play a leading role in the developmental process, by innovating and exploiting the scientific research. On the other side, Enterprises must be on condition to benefit immediately and essentially from this new scientific and technical knowledge, which is available in the Knowledge Production Organisms as their research effort products. Patras Science Park, by accomplishing its forementioned strategic target, attempts to bring together these two creation and development poles, to back their easy and effective interaction and to create the most favorable business and development frame.

Our Patras Science Park acts having full awareness of its special obligations, as it operates in a big Region, which contrary to its big industrial tradition and its huge capabilities, ended up, for common to all of us reasons, being in the lowest point of the development scale. But it is exactly the tradition that inspires us and leads us, showing us the vision of a development, which will be based on traditional ideals, but it will move fast and effectively towards the future, a future difficult but also attractive, full of surprises, in the marvelous areas of temporary technology.

With regards,
